SONA 2018

Last July 23, 2018, at 4 o’clock p.m., when President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his third SONA. The speech which lasted for about 48 minutes was so far his shortest speech. It is straight to the point speech. SONA or State of the Nation Address wherein the President will discuss the present situation of the country. He will discuss what program did he accomplished for the betterment of his countrymen.
The SONA of President Duterter started with a greeting to the entire guest who attended the affair at the Batasang Pambansa. Here is some topic that the President discussed during the SONA. The President tackled the War on Drugs wherein he criticized the human right groups for criticizing the anti-drug campaign of the government. He thanked the Congress for passing the Bill of Ease of Doing business act. He also reminded all government agencies to simplify processes and cut red tape. He also said that he will fire a friend who will be involved in corruption. The president also promised that he will sign the Bangsamoro Law within 48 hours as long Malacanang receives it. He also recalled the Marawi sage and recognized the fallen 44 soldiers. President Duterte welcome all terrorist who will surrender them safely to the government. He also condemned the death and abuses suffered by Overseas Filipino Worker at the hands of foreign employers. He also mentioned the efforts of the government to solve the problem of contractualization. He said that there is an almost 300,000 worker who has been regularized.
Filipinos believe that the President fulfilled some of his promises last year and some of us criticized the government. They believe that the program and efforts of the government are not enough to make the life of the Filipinos more comfortable. Many of the Filipinos waited for the SONA of the President to hear and know what promises of the President have fulfilled and what promises remained as a promise.
