The Nutrition Month

The month of July is the so-called Nutrition Month. It is celebrated every year by the local government and by us, the students. The theme of the celebration changes every year. And this year’s theme is "Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin!”
The Philippines has lots of lands that can be planted by vegetables. And almost all schools have vacant land where they can plant vegetables and fruits. Planting vegetables is taught to students to help them understand the value of it. In the school grounds, they can plant eggplant, chili, pumpkin, and much more. They can also plant in old plastic bottles. If the children already know how to plant and they already know the benefits that they can get from it, they will take this knowledge to their homes. And there, they will plant for their families.
These vegetables are full of nutrients that will strengthen our body. Eating vegetables gives strength to our body so that we can work right and study well. And this will make us active and we can totally participate in our class discussion.
By planting vegetables and eating them, we can avoid malnutrition. The young ones will be healthy. They will have the strength to face the challenges of life. And the elders will have the chance to live longer. They can avoid illnesses that nowadays arise.
