Children's Month

National Children’s Month is observed every November by virtue of Republic Act No. 10661 signed on May 29, 2015 by then President Benigno Aquino III. The declaration commemorates the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly on Nov. 20, 1989. The Department of Social Welfare and Development, National Youth Commission, and Council for the Welfare of Children are tasked to implement activities.

This year’s theme is “Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga para sa lahat ng bata,” it is fitting that this parents-children dialogue is organized, in which positive parenting and discipline towards children was the significant focus.

The DSWD Field Office VII through the Regional Council for the Welfare of Children (RCWC) conducted a whole-day Parents-Children Dialogue on November 22, 2018 at the Golden Peak Hotel and Suites, Cebu City. The activity was participated by the parent and children representatives from different Local Government Units (LGUs) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in Cebu.
